Q. What is Distance Learning?

Distance learning, also referred to as ‘online learning’, is an alternative way for you to study. Online distance learning is ideal for those who may have existing commitments, as it allows you to work at your own pace and fit your studies around your schedule. Instead of attending classes and courses in a classroom, you study in your own time and at your own pace. All teaching and materials are delivered online. You submit assessments online too. Furthermore, our distance learning courses allow you to study from anywhere in the world that has internet access.

Distance learning is also a cheaper and far more flexible way to learn, and as we impose no time limits on our distance learning courses, your learning can fit around a busy lifestyle and you can spend as much time as you like studying and practicing the different techniques.

If you like the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of distance learning, but would still like face-to-face support and a chance to engage with other students around the world, we also hold regular free online webinars for those that have taken Step 1 The Feng Shui Key Concepts course. There is also a free online discussion forum where you can ask questions and receive tips and advice from other students and our Feng Shui experts.

Q. Prices are in GB pounds. How much is the course in my local currency?

The cost shown in GB Pounds is the correct price for your course and prices in other currencies are approximate. To find out the price in your currency, please visit www.xe.com, scroll to "Convert this" and enter the course price. Click "From this currency" and enter GBP United Kingdom pounds. Enter your desired currency, followed by "Click to Convert", and you will be shown the cost in your currency. Please note, that exchange rates fluctuate, sometimes significantly.

Q. How can I pay for a course?

Clicking "Buy Now" takes you to PayPal's secure payment facilities where you can pay with a credit or debit card of your choice. Please ensure that you have access to the email address linked to your PayPal account as course download details can only be sent to this email address.

Q. What are the computer requirements to study via Distance Learning?

The Distance Learning Courses are interactive PDF files and have been designed to work on most systems, including MACs. Please check that you already have, or are able to download, the following free software before ordering a course. You should also ensure that any software is regularly updated.

Q. Are there time limits?

Start learning whenever you’re ready, take a break in between studying if you wish, and learn at your own pace. Unlike some online courses, we impose no time limits or pressures on you to complete your course, and it won’t expire or become invalid.

Q. What type of assignments are there with the lessons?

Every course contains activities, questions, and practical assignments intended to serve as study aid/self-assessment mechanisms. Half the course tests theory, and the other half tests the practical applications, which is your chance to practice what you have learned in your own home.

Q. Do I have to take all the courses?

No, some people just want to fully understand traditional Chinese Feng Shui, increase their knowledge, and use Feng Shui in their own homes. The Feng Shui Key Concepts Course has been designed to allow everyone to perform their own basic home consultation and is the starting point for those who wish to go further and become a fully qualified Feng Shui Consultant.

Q. Does it matter in which order I take the courses?

The courses are designed to follow on from one another, building on the knowledge gained in previous courses, and becoming increasingly intensive. We therefore strongly recommend that you take the seven courses in the correct order.

Q. What support do students have?

Once enrolled in the Distance Learning programme with the Key Concepts course, we offer a free Email forum that you can join and discuss feng shui with other students and tutors. Obviously, any test questions contained within the course are not permitted. We also hold regular free online webinars. Please note: We are unable to offer free student support for those who have not enrolled in the Feng Shui Mastery course with Step One, the Feng Shui Key Concepts course.

Q. Do you offer discounts?

Yes, we do! Start with Step 1, the Feng Shui Key Concepts course, then take Feng Shui Mastery Steps 2 to 7 as a package, and receive a discount of almost 30%! Steps 2 to 7 can also be purchased individually, as and when you need them, at full price. If you are looking for full, professional Feng Shui Consultant training, you can also claim your discount by purchasing All Seven Steps to Feng Shui Mastery Courses as a complete package. Q. How long does it take to complete the courses?

That's really up to you. Download details are sent straight away to the email address linked to your PayPal account, and you decide how much time you devote to learning. There are many new concepts within the courses that students find fascinating and may take time to implement in their own homes, but the subsequent results usually inspire them to complete the course and move on to the deeper levels as soon as possible. Everyone absorbs and learns at different rates, so it's difficult to say exactly how long it will take you to finish the course, but students normally complete the Key Concepts stage within 3 months. However, there is no time limit to course completion. Below is a rough guide to study times, compiled with the help of our students.

Q. Do I receive a certificate after taking the courses?

As we are the only body to issue professional Feng Shui accreditation for correspondence courses, to receive certification from the FSI you must be able to show that you have fully understood the material, are able to correctly analyse a space and/or Chinese astrology chart, and can correctly implement cures. If you are training to become a certified Professional Feng Shui Consultant, be registered with the Feng Shui Institute, and charge for the consultations you perform, you must take all seven levels of the Distance Learning programme, submit the test questions and practical assignments, and pass the final exam. Your paper will be assessed and if successful, we will inform you via Email. If unsuccessful, you will be shown the areas you need to restudy and you can resubmit your paper.

Q. Can I teach Feng Shui after taking the distance learning courses?

In order to teach Feng Shui, you must have had many years of practical experience as a Feng Shui consultant first. Only having gained a high level of experience and knowledge from successful consultations in homes and businesses should you try to teach others.
